John L. Moake leads several REATA Project Leasing and Tenant Representation efforts. In a career spanning more than a decade, he has represented landlords in more than 850,000 square feet of retail transactions while generating well over $150 million in total consideration in San Antonio and Central Texas.
John Moake joined REATA from Birnbaum Property Company where he rose to the position of Partner. In that role, he managed a retail portfolio consisting of more than one million square feet in the San Antonio marketplace, managed the firm’s leasing program and sourced new brokerage accounts while creating development and acquisition opportunities.
John also served as Birnbaum Property Company’s Director of Property Management for two years. In that capacity, he was responsible for the management, accounting and reporting functions of over 1.5 million square feet of retail, industrial and office assets in greater San Antonio.
John’s clients have included well known retailers including ACE Cash Express, Arby’s, Capital One Bank, Fuddruckers Restaurants, Health Texas Medical Group, Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent Care, Luby’s, Papa John’s Pizza and Planet Fitness.
Prior to Birnbaum Property Company, John gained invaluable local experience at United Commercial Realty of San Antonio. He came to UCR from Ortho McNeil Pharmaceuticals, a Johnson and Johnson Company.
John earned his degree in Psychology from Texas Tech University. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Real Estate Council of San Antonio.
Away from the office, John is serving as Development Chair on the board of Harper’s Embrace Lifesaver Program (H.E.L.P.), a nonprofit organization which provides free CPR education across San Antonio and South Texas.
